Vue Wins 2016 UDIA SA Award

ADELAIDE’S TALLEST RESIDENTIAL BUILDING REACHES NEW HEIGHTS  WITH UDIA (SA) AWARD

The success of Adelaide’s tallest residential building, Vue on King William, has continued with the development scooping the 2016 UDIA SA High Density Housing Award.

It’s the second UDIA SA High Density Housing Award for Starfish Developments, which also won the award last year for its Avenue at St Clair project along with the UDIA SA President’s Award.

The 2016 award was announced on Friday night (November 4) at the UDIA SA Awards for Excellence, held at Adelaide Oval.

The 89 metre, 28 storey Vue on King William, which officially opened in June, is a joint venture between Adelaide-based Starfish Developments and Melbourne-based Asian Pacific Group.

The $100 million, 210 apartment development was almost fully sold within a couple of months of going to market in May 2014, with construction starting just four months later. The building took just 20 months from ground breaking to completion. Construction of the project created 200 jobs.

Vue has brought a new style of residential architecture to Adelaide with its six level podium, recessed Level 7 roof top garden, pool deck and recreation centre and 22 level glass frontage.

Starfish Developments Managing Director Damon Nagel said Vue had set a new benchmark for Adelaide CBD apartment development through a strong partnership between Starfish and the Asian Pacific Group.

“The vision for the project was bold, and I’m delighted to see that vision realised to demonstrate that brave, innovative developments are possible in Adelaide,” said Mr Nagel.

“It’s great to receive recognition from your industry peers, and I thank the UDIA SA for the award, but it’s even more satisfying to get a project like Vue off the ground and to create satisfied buyers and investors.”

For Starfish Developments, Vue on King William has been a springboard to other projects with the firm’s second CBD apartment development, bohem, currently under construction and the firm moving into master planned community developments with Woodforde and Dock One, Port Adelaide.
