ADELAIDE’S TALLEST RESIDENTIAL BUILDING OPENS TODAY
Vue on King William has officially become Adelaide’s tallest residential building with the 85 metre, 28 storey building being officially opened by Deputy Premier, John Rau tonight.
Over the coming weeks, more than 400 residents will move into the residential apartment building providing a significant boost to the CBD’s population.
The $100 million, 210 apartment development was almost fully sold within a couple of months of going to market in May 2014, with construction starting just four months later. The building took just 20 months from ground breaking to completion. Construction of the project created 200 jobs.
Vue on King William is a joint venture between Adelaide-based Starfish Developments and Melbourne-based Asian Pacific Group.
Starfish Developments Managing Director Damon Nagel said opening Vue on King William was another sign that the City of Adelaide was continuing to grow, and mature as an attractive place to live as well as work and play.
“The vision for the project was bold, and I’m delighted to see that vision realised to demonstrate that brave, innovative developments are possible in Adelaide,” said Mr Nagel.
“If we want to encourage people to live in the CBD then we must create unique, distinctive projects where people see the real benefits of a move from the suburbs to the City.”
Vue brings a new style of residential architecture to Adelaide with its six level podium, recessed Level 7 roof top garden, pool deck and recreation centre and 22 level glass frontage. The building has been designed by leading architects Woods Bagot, led by Principal Gavin Kain, alongside Design Architect Enzo Caroscio.
Just one penthouse apartment is left for sale in the development. Now Adelaide’s highest home, the $2 million penthouse apartment will be open for public viewing from tomorrow.
The split level penthouse boasts more than 240 square metres of living space including 100 square metres of entertaining space, 3-bedrooms, two bathrooms, two car parks, high quality fixtures and fittings and market leading European appliances.
It has its own rooftop private outdoor entertaining terrace incorporating a built-in kitchen fully equipped with a stainless steel BBQ, range-hood, stone bench tops and built in fridge. The private terrace is accessed by a private internal staircase within each penthouse.
Asian Pacific Group Chief Executive Officer Will Deague said it was great to see the Asian Pacific Group’s second Adelaide project completed.
“The success of The Watson and now Vue has been due to creating a product for which there was real demand in the Adelaide market, said Mr Deague.
“Residents at Vue will enjoy a great lifestyle with amazing views, first-class amenities, and well-appointed apartments.”
